Blake downs Andujar in DC
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}American James Blake ousted fifth seed Pablo Andujar of Spain, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 in first-round action Monday at the $1 million Citi Open tennis event.
Blake, who titled at this tournament in 2002 and was the runner-up in 2005, fired nine aces and took advantage of five double faults from Andujar.
Also on the first day of this tournament, sixth-seeded Frenchman Jeremy Chardy topped fellow countryman Edouard Roger-Vasselin, 3-6, 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 on the hardcourts at William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center.

The 2012 D.C. winner will collect $252,600.
