Blackman scores school-record 41 to power Savannah State past Morgan State 78-70 in 2 OT

Preston Blackman scored 15 of his 41 points after regulation, setting a school record for points in a Division I game, as Savannah State outlasted Morgan State 78-70 in double overtime Monday night.
The Tigers (8-9, 2-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) have won three straight after a six-game skid.
Blackman drained two 3-pointers in the last 26 seconds of the first overtime to tie it at 67, then scored nine of Savannah State's 11 points in the second. The Tigers' Division I (since 2002) record had been 36 points by Jovonni Shuler against Carver College on Feb. 24, 2011.

Blackman, whose previous best this season was 21 points, made 14 of 26 field goals, 8 of 15 3-pointers and 5 of 5 free throws.
DeWayne Jackson and Justin Black scored 18 apiece for the Bears (4-9, 1-1). Ian Chiles, whose layup with 1 second left in regulation forced overtime, added 14.
