Besler, Zusi sign Designated Player deals with Sporting
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Kansas City, KS (SportsNetwork.com) - Sporting Kansas City locked down both Matt Besler and Graham Zusi on Saturday as the duo signed Designated Player contracts to remain with the club.
Both players represented the United States at the 2014 World Cup, and both have now signed multi-year contracts with Sporting that tie them to the club through the 2018 World Cup.
Besler and Zusi were both selected by Sporting in the 2009 draft and have gone on to represent the club in over 130 matches, with the two men playing big roles in the club winning the 2013 MLS Cup.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The two players have both been voted to the 2014 MLS All-Star Game, and they become the eighth and ninth Designated Players in MLS that are U.S. national team members.
