Berdych beats Djokovic in Wimbledon semifinals
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}WIMBLEDON, England (AP) — Tomas Berdych has reached his first Grand Slam final after upsetting third-seeded Novak Djokovic 6-3, 7-6 (9), 6-3 in the semifinals of Wimbledon.
The 12th-seeded Czech, who defeated six-time champion Roger Federer in the quarterfinals, seized control of the match after winning a dramatic tiebreaker in the second set.
After leading 6-2, Berdych wasted five set points, including one where Djokovic successfully challenged a baseline call, before the Serb surrendered with his fifth double fault and second of the tiebreaker.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Djokovic's serve again let him down in the eighth game of the third set, double-faulting twice in a row to hand Berdych the break.
Berdych will play either Rafael Nadal or Andy Murray in Sunday's final.
