Bayern's Ribery sidelined after operation

Munich, Germany (SportsNetwork.com) - Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery will miss Saturday's match at Nurnberg after he was forced to undergo a minor operation to repair a burst blood vessel in his buttock.

Ribery is expected to stay in the hospital until Sunday, and he will undergo another exam on Monday before a timetable for his return can be set.

The 30-year-old had just recently returned from injury in Bayern's 5-0 victory over Eintracht last weekend, while the Bavarians will have to do without the winger as they attempt to extend their unbeaten run in the Bundesliga to 45 games.

Ribery has netted seven goals with eight assists in 14 league appearances this term.
