Armstrong, Hassell help No. 6 Georgia hold off TCU
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Anne Marie Armstrong and Jasmine Hassell poured in 14 points apiece on Wednesday to lead No. 6 Georgia to a 72-59 victory over TCU at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.
Erika Ford followed with 13 points off the bench, while Shacobia Barbee tallied eight points, six rebounds and six assists for the Lady Bulldogs (12-0), who have won all but one of their games by double digits.
Natalie Ventress led TCU (5-4) with a game-high 19 points and Donielle Breaux chipped in 14 points off the bench in the setback, the Horned Frogs' second in their last three games.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}TCU trailed by just three, 15-12, just over six minutes in, but the Lady Bulldogs scored the next 10 points to build a 13-point advantage.
Georgia's lead ballooned to 38-21 at the break before the visitors opened the second half on a 7-2 swing to press the margin to 22 points.
The Horned Frogs got as close as seven later in the frame after a 3-pointer from Zahna Medley, but Georgia countered with the next four points before knocking down 4-of-7 free throws over the final 90 seconds to hold on for the victory.
