Arkansas State rallies into lead in final minutes, beats Jackson State 65-61
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Raeford Worsham scored five of his eight points in a late flurry that helped Arkansas State rally past Jacksonville State 65-61 on Monday night.
In a little over two minutes, Worsham grabbed an offensive rebound and scored a layup to pull the Red Wolves within two, scored again to tie the game at 56-56 and hit a free throw to extend the lead to five points after Melvin Johnson III propelled Arkansas State into the lead with a 3-pointer at 2:03 remaining.
After the teams went into halftime tied, Jacksonville State opened the second half on a 9-0 run and never trailed until Worsham and Johnson stepped up late. Cameron Golden led the Red Wolves (1-0) with 16 points, Kirk Van Slyke had 14 and Johnson 13.
