Antyukh wins 400 hurdles, Demus takes silver for U.S.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Russia's Natalya Antyukh won the women's 400-meter hurdles, narrowly defeating Lashinda Demus of the United States for gold.
Antyukh finished in 52.70 seconds, while Demus crossed the line just .07 seconds later for silver. For Antyukh, it was her second individual Olympic medal, following the bronze she won in the 400 meters -- without hurdles -- eight years ago at the Athens Games. She also won silver in Athens with Russia's 1,600-meter relay team.
Demus, last year's world champion, failed to qualify for the 2008 Beijing Games and picked up her first medal.

Americans Georganne Moline and T'Erea Brown finished fifth and sixth, respectively.
