Angels' Pujols wins AL Player of the Week
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim first baseman Albert Pujols was named the American League Player of the Week for the period ending August 5.
Pujols batted .424 with five doubles, six home runs, 13 RBI and nine runs scored in seven games played. The 32-year-old was at or near the top in several offensive categories, including leading baseball in home runs, RBI and total bases (37). He also finished second in hits and slugging percentage (1.121).
It was Pujols' 12th career weekly honor and first since joining the Angels.
