Angels activate Hunter from restricted list; Weaver to DL
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The Angels reinstated right fielder Torii Hunter from the restricted list and placed starting pitcher Jered Weaver on the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday.
Hunter has been away from the team since May 14th due to the arrest of his son in Texas. The 17-year-old Darius McClinton-Hunter is facing sexual-assault charges.
Hunter, who has missed 15 games, is batting .256 with five home runs and 15 RBI in 33 games this season.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Weaver, who is on the DL due to a lower back strain with spasms, has compiled a 6-1 record with a 2.61 ERA in 11 starts. He was forced to leave Monday's game against the New York Yankees in the first inning with a lower back injury.
The Angels also optioned infielder Andrew Romine to Salt Lake and called up pitcher Garrett Richards from the Triple-A club.
