Ajax falls at Groningen
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Groningen, Netherlands (SportsNetwork.com) - Ajax suffered a second successive defeat on Sunday, losing 2-0 at Groningen to second-half goals from Eric Botteghin and Michael de Leeuw.
Ajax lost to PSV Eindhoven last weekend, and with talented young defender Daley Blind set to complete a move to Manchester United, Ajax was playing without the Dutch international.
However, the club started well and Davy Klaassen had a dangerous chance blocked before Kolbeinn Sigthorsson wasted a good opportunity.

Ajax went in search of an equalizer, but Groningen put the match away in the closing moments with substitute De Leeuw getting down to head home another good ball from Chery.
PSV took advantage of that result by making it four wins from four games in a 2-0 home triumph over Vitesse with second-half goals from Luuk de Jong and Adam Maher.
