AJ Allmendinger crashes on opening lap for 2nd straight day at IndyCar's Detroit Grand Prix

The Penske Racing driver crashed on the opening lap for the second straight day at the Detroit Grand Prix.
He was in a pack of cars when he hit a wall Sunday. Allmendinger took the blame for getting squeezed between two cars in a crash Saturday.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Penske Racing plans to put Allmendinger in NASCAR Nationwide Series road course races this month and in August.
He has driven a limited NASCAR schedule since his suspension for a failed drug test last year. Penske fired Allmendinger but gave him another chance in IndyCar and is extending another opportunity in stock cars this summer.
