Agent: Buffalo Bills agree to sign linebacker Brandon Spikes
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) The Buffalo Bills have agreed to sign veteran linebacker Brandon Spikes to shore up their injury-depleted roster.
Spikes' agent, David Canter, first announced the deal on his Twitter account Sunday, and then confirmed it in a text to The Associated Press.
It's a second chance in Buffalo for Spikes, who played for the Bills in 2014. And it's an opportunity for him to resume his career since sitting out last season.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Spikes was sentenced to a year of probation in July 2015 after pleading guilty in a hit-and-run crash that injured three people. The crash led to Spikes being released by New England only a few weeks after he signed with the Patriots.
The Bills are thin at linebacker after rookie Reggie Ragland hurt his left knee on Friday.
