Virginia Tech's star running back David Wilson announced Friday he will skip his senior season to enter the NFL Draft.

Wilson, who was named ACC Player of the Year this season, said at a press conference he cannot pass up the opportunity to turn pro.

Wilson, 20, said he consulted with the NFL Draft Advisory Board, which predicted he would be a second-round pick in April's draft.

The five-foot-10, 205-pound junior rushed for 1,709 yards and nine touchdowns this season. He led the ACC in rushing yards, and was just 89 yards short of breaking Thomas Jones' conference record for rushing yards in a single season.

Wilson was fourth in the FBS this season in rushing yards, trailing only Wisconsin's Montee Ball, Oregon's LaMichael James and San Diego State's Ronnie Hillman.
