2nd Ga. teacher under fire after reports students wore mock Klan robes in school for project

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (AP) — A second Georgia schoolteacher has come under fire amid reports she let students don mock Ku Klux Klan outfits for a class project.

A suburban school district northeast of Atlanta said Wednesday it is investigating social studies teacher Stephanie Hunte, saying another teacher complained after she saw students wearing sheets in a Lawrenceville middle school last week.

Hunte did not immediately return a call for comment.

The incident occurred in Gwinnett County, home to Georgia's largest school district and a large minority population.

Separately, a north Georgia teacher was recently placed on administrative leave after allowing four students in a high school classroom some 75 miles north of Atlanta to wear Klan-like outfits for a final project.
