UCF gets another big win by dodging a field-storming fine after stunning upset over BYU
Athletic director Terry Mohajir credited thorough safety preparations and coordinated escorts for visiting players
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The UCF Knights pulled off one of the biggest wins in program history when they beat the BYU Cougars in an overtime thriller on Saturday.
Now, the school has earned a victory that the athletic department might be even more excited about: not getting fined for the post-game field-storming.
Field-storming sometimes gets a bad rap, but if ever there was a time for it, beating the No. 2 team in the country when you're unranked is probably it.

So, that's what Knights fans did ... even if it was a little tricky getting down the field at Acrisure Bounce House.
Alright, so they might need to pony up a few bucks for more canopies, but they won't need to pay the Big 12 as a mea culpa for the field storming.

Why not?
Because it turns out that the school did such a good job preparing and implementing a plan in the event of a good ol' fashioned field stormin' that there's no need for a fine.

"We’re proud of our athletics staff for their planning, preparation & execution in helping protect everyone involved."
So the trick to not having to cut a check after a field storm is to prepare for a field storm.
Paradoxically, if you're expecting a field storming ... then maybe that win is not worth storming the field.

But while there's no way UCF came into that game thinking they'd be beating a really solid BYU team, it happened, and they were ready.
