Shot Clock Violation with Dan Zaksheske & Zach Dean | Don't @ Me w/Dan Dakich
Dan Zaksheske & Zach Dean join Dan Dakich for this week's edition of Shot Clock Violation
Welcome to another Tuesday edition of Screencaps. It's not just any Tuesday edition of "America's Best Daily Internet Column," but one where I'm filling in for Joe on what is the last Tuesday of the month of July.
We're getting started on the golf course with a true content legend in Paulina Gretzky. The veteran wasn't there to watch either, she was competing in a member-guest tournament.

The wife of golfer Dustin Johnson did something on the golf course that, according to Golf Digest's Alex Myers, her husband hasn't done in two and a half years. She won.

Paulina, who it is worth mentioning was dressed for success, teamed up with golf media personality Alexandra O'Laughlin. The two ended up being the Fandango Member Guest flight champs.
Congratulations to the two of them. Naturally, Paulina and Alexandra took their victory laps on social media.

Respecting summer and cooking MEAT

Hey, Sean:
Cooked up a nice NY Strip, some fresh Indiana sweet corn, and half a 'tater (had the other half yesterday) for Sunday supper....

Jeff, this is a great Sunday supper. Thank you for sending in your meat and for respecting summer. The real fight in that battle has just begun. Keep it up and keep sending your meat my way.

Holy crap! Mom is smoking hot! Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!

Rick, I'd argue with you if I could. But I can't. For those who missed it (here it is), Paige pulled her "look at my hot mom" move over the weekend when she wished her mom a happy birthday.
Let's just say, mom's fastball is still popping the mitt.

Now this is lunch meat. That prepackaged nonsense they try to pass off as food doesn’t stand a chance up against this. Thanks for sending this in Scott. Keep sending in your meat, we all want to see it.

Hey SeanJo,
Hope you’re doing well and thanks for covering for Joe while he gets in that last vacation before his kids return to school. This is the time of year when those last vacations happen. We spent a week in western Michigan, which is where my wife is from. Other than smoke the first day-and-a-half, it was beautiful. Mix of warm and humid (like South Florida in May) and cool. Great time seeing her family and friends, although times are a changin’. Both of her sisters are selling their homes to downsize. In fact one had sold and was getting ready to move. So the next time we visit in a couple of years, we won’t be staying at any of the homes they’ve owned for a decade or more. A sign we’re getting old! 😂 I’ve attached a couple of photos of Lake Michigan and the golden sand and dunes and a lake I saw during my run. Lots of sailboats after the smoke cleared.
I’m curious if anyone else can relate to this as they get older, going to a restaurant for years only to have something big change. I’ve been hitting the same fast casual Latin American restaurant for lunch on Saturdays for at least 7 to 8 years now, and I tend to sit at the bar and talk to the manager and the servers/bartenders. About 2.5-3 years ago, I was told they were moving to a smaller, more takeout friendly location, and I was a little sad about it. That ended up not happening since it was a new building and rent was high. Well, very recently I noticed my friend, the manager, hadn’t been in for a while, and they said he was on vacation. Around the 4th of July, his wife told me he was hired by another restaurant. Now this might sound weird, but I’m kind of bummed out. He’s been there for years and had one of the top performing restaurants in the chain. I have to wonder if he wasn’t making as much despite the success. His wife and younger sister still work there, but they’ve said it’s not the same and they might leave. While I go for the food, the best part is chatting with everyone. Let’s just say if they go, I may not keep visiting. Even my wife was shocked. Guess it’s a sign I’m getting old!
Take care!

First off Gen X Warren, thanks for the support and for reaching out. It looks like you had a great time in Michigan.
When it comes to the changes at your favorite spot, I can't relate. Not to the same extent, anyway.
We have places we like to frequent, but we haven't gone into full "this is where we have lunch on Saturday" mode.
It's a mode I love. One of these days, I'm going to start doing this. It's a move that I don't think enough people are doing.
This might be a sign that it's time to move to another lunch spot on Saturdays. The food is one aspect of it, but the people are probably the real reason you chose to keep the routine going for this long.

That's it for this fine Tuesday morning. We're looking at a high of 85 today in the Charlotte area with partly sunny skies. I'm going to have to respect summer and get out there at some point.
As Joe mentioned on Monday, I'm handling the Screencaps duties through Friday. He'll be back on Saturday. Until then, send me what you have. I want an inbox full of meat. sean.joseph@outkick.com
