Charlamagne Tha God warns Democrats 'don't get comfortable' after winning House and Senate
Radio host says voters rejected MAGA but that doesn't automatically mean they trust Democrats
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Radio host Charlamagne Tha God warned Democrats not to let their midterm success go to their head, warning that they need to take action to show they are committed to serving their voters.
"But here's why I need Democrats to pay close attention. Don't get comfortable because, you know, a Democrat victory has not proved that they've earned lasting trust. Americans rejected MAGA and Republicans, but that doesn't automatically mean they trust Democrats," he warned.
"I don't want to hear another two years of Democrats telling us how dangerous Donald Trump is. We know that. OK? That's why there was such a rebuke of Trump last night," he said. "We know he's dangerous. That's why y'all won. I have one question. OK? What the F are you going to do with the power that we the people just gave you, Democrats? OK?"

Charlamagne then demanded Democrats address a number of issues when they take office.
"You got the House, you got the Senate. So, come January, I want to see an actual agenda. What's your plan to lower housing costs? Are you going to build more affordable housing? What about healthcare? Are you going to fight to lower premiums, protect Medicaid? Are you going to stop Americans from going broke because they got sick? What about wages?" he asked.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}"People are working two and three jobs and still can't afford to live. What are you going to do to make sure a full-time job can actually support a family?" Charlamagne continued. "And while we're at it, what about all this corruption we've seen? And are we going to get real investigations into conflicts of interest? Huh? Government contracts and politicians using public office to enrich themselves? I hope so."
Theo Wold, a former White House deputy assistant for domestic policy in Trump’s first term, called Charlamagne's comments "clueless" in comments to Fox News Digital.
"Once again, Charlamagne shows how clueless he is," Wold said. "He, like so many voters who cast ballots for Democrats, labors under the misunderstanding that Democrats have a platform or any intention of addressing affordability, healthcare, or the flat-lining wages for working families. Democrats will do exactly what revolutionary ideologues have always done: move to consolidate their power and permanently alter governing institutions."

Wold warned that Democrats would try to push radical changes like abolishing the electoral college as a pretext for tackling affordability concerns. "But in reality, Democrats will do exactly as they’ve promised: punish their enemies and radically transform our nation," he added.
Charlamagne also credited Democrats for shifting away from culture war messaging and focusing on voters' economic concerns.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}"Ain't no talk of wokeness," he said. "There's no talk [of] identity politics. They're out there talking about affordability. And you got some really great quality candidates on the Democratic side. And man, last night people voted their interest. It wasn't about party. It wasn't about, you know, that MAGA cult. It was about, you know what, I got to go out here and vote my interest, I'm getting my a-- kicked financially.’"
