Decay and government neglect: Tough lessons at Central University of Venezuela

Many hallways at the Central University of Venezuela need extensive repairs. Even though it was declared World Heritage Site in 2000, the campus' infrastructure is deteriorating fast.

Students and teachers at UCV's School of Science cleaned the labs and found out that most of the reagents and materials are out of date or useless. They took them out to the hallway. -

The School of Odontology's entrance is one of the best preserved areas of the university.

The School of Engineering also shows some deterioration.

Construction work stopped years ago in a project started back in 2000, aimed at building new laboratories and a Math School.
