Stars with tax problems

Celebrities may be pros at acting, singing and creating empires, but that doesn't mean they are always good at paying the bills. As you mail off your check to the IRS this year, check out the celebs who may have forgotten to do so in the past.  

<b>David Cassidy</b> Cassidy may have sold more than 30 million records, but <a target="_blank" href="http://www.tmz.com/2015/02/12/david-cassidy-files-bankruptcy-debts/">TMZ</a> is reporting the star is now broke. <a target="_blank" href="http://www.tmz.com/2015/02/12/david-cassidy-files-bankruptcy-debts/">The gossip site reports</a> Cassidy filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection this week and owes a creditors hundreds of thousands of dollars including $39,102 in credit card debt and a $292,598 mortgage against his house. <b>Dionne Warwick </b> "Say A Little Prayer" for Dionne Warwick. The singer once owed nearly $10 million in back taxes and had to file for bankruptcy. (Reuters) (Reuters)

<b>Stephen Baldwin </b> Alec's brother owed $350,000 in back taxes. Baldwin avoided jail time for the unpaid taxes after he pled guilty to tax felony. He has five years to pay back Uncle Sam.  (Reuters) (Reuters )

<b>Lionel Richie</b> It seems he recorded his country duets album just in time -- Lionel is going to be needing some extra cash. The singer reportedly owes the federal government $1.1 million in unpaid taxes. A lien has been issued to the former Commodores crooner, saying his assets could be seized if he fails to cough up the cash.

<b>Lindsey Vonn</b> She may be an Olympic gold medalist on the slopes, but not with Uncle Sam. The blonde beauty owes $1.7M in delinquent taxes, according to the Detroit News Watchdog. Vonn says the matter was only recently brought to her attention and vowed to take care of it. With all those endorsements, it shouldn't be a problem!

<b>Lindsay Lohan</b> Lohan is the latest star to have some serious issues with the taxman. According to reports, the troubled star owes the IRS hundreds of thousands of dollars in unpaid taxes. And now the taxman cometh, slapping the star with a lien for unpaid income taxes dating back to 2009. This at the ripe old age of 26!

<b>Pamela Anderson </b> California tax authorities say "Baywatch" beauty Anderson owes $524,241 in personal income taxes and placed her on a list of the state's 50 worst offenders.   (AP)

<b>Ernie Hudson</b> The "Ghostbusters" star apparently tried to pull a phantom move with the IRS. Earlier this year, Hudson was slapped with a $48,000 late tax bill. Compared to the rest of these stars, Ernie's bill is child's play.  (AP)

<b>Christie Brinkley</b> In December, news broke that super model and Broadway star Christie Brinkley owed a whopping $531,720 tax bill on her $30M mansion in New York State. Yikes. It's going to take a lot of Cover Girl to fix that one.

<b>The Osbournes</b> Groupies aren't the only ones going after Ozzy Osbourne these days. The IRS hit up Ozzy and his wife Sharon with a tax lien that totals $718,948.25 and $1,024,175.03 in 2008 and 2009 respectively.  And apparently owing money runs in the family because their daughter Kelly got hit for $34,000 in March.  Click through to see who else Uncle Sam is going after. <b>Wesley Snipes</b> Oh, Wes. In 2006, the "Blade" actor was charged with one count of conspiring to defraud the United States government. The IRS charges that Snipes had previously used accountants who had a history of filing false returns. He was acquitted of the fraud charged, but was found guilty of failing to file federal income tax returns. Despite attempts to appeal, he was ultimately sentenced to prison. After a lengthy battle with the federal government, Snipes reported to prison in 2010 to begin his three-year sentence. He is expected to be released in July of 2013. (Reuters)

<b>Martin Scorsese</b> Think you're feeling the pinch after paying taxes? Well imagine owing close to $3 million in back taxes! The Oscar winning actor was <a target="_blank" href="http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2011/03/08/martin-scorsese-hit-285m-tax-report-says/">reportedly</a> hit with a $2.85 million back-tax bill last year. <b>Joe Francis</b> Back in 2010, the IRS filed a $29,393,681.45 tax lien against the founder of "Girls Gone Wild," TMZ reported. Since then, it appears he has brought the sum down to $794,000.  (AP)

<b>Nicolas Cage</b> According to TMZ, Cage owes the IRS $13,330,372.83--the sum of accumulated tax liens for taxes unpaid in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2007 and 2008.  (AP)

<b>Sinbad</b> According to The Detroit News Tax Watchdog, Sinbad owes more than $8.15 million in delinquent taxes. In 2009, he filed for bankruptcy and in 2010, put his home up for auction to alleviate some of his debt. (AP)

<b>Val Kilmer</b> The IRS, according to The Detroit News Tax Watchdog blog, filed a $538,858 lien against Kilmer on July 15, 2009 in the Bergen County, N.J. clerk's office.  Last fall, he managed to sell most of his New Mexico estate to an oil exec for $18 million, so it looks like the actor landed on his feet.  (AP)
