Rikki Rockett, the drummer for Poison, has revealed he’s suffering from oral cancer.
“[In] June, I kind of got sick,” the 54-year-old shared on SiriusXM’s Eddie Trunk Live on Monday. “I had this horrible cold, sore-throat thing, and they were scoping me and they were doing biopsies, and nothing was coming up.”
“Finally a doctor at USC did a biopsy and took a look and he said, ‘I believe you have oral cancer.’ And what it was is a tumor at the base of my tongue,” he continued.

Today, Rockett has undergone nine sessions of chemotherapy and 35 sessions of radiation.
In February, he will undergo a PET scan to determine if his treatment was successful. As of now, he doctors are hopeful that he is in remission.
