Police say a 64-year-old suburban Detroit man has been jailed after living several months in a trailer home with a woman's corpse.

Dennis McCauley was arraigned Friday for failing to report a death, mutilation of a corpse, identity theft and other charges.

McCauley was arrested Monday at Long's Mobile Home Court in Wayne County's Redford Township, west of Detroit.

Police Sgt. Kevin Crittenden says a court officer saw a woman's remains on a sofa after going to the trailer to serve an eviction notice. The woman is identified as 72-year-old Ann Marquis, who is believed to have died in November. Preliminary autopsy results reveal she died of natural causes.

Police say they believe McCauley lived with Marquis for about three years.

McCauley didn't have an attorney Friday.
