EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) Wide receiver Victor Cruz may miss the New York Giants' preseason opener against the Miami Dolphins because of a groin injury.

Once one of the NFL's biggest playmakers, Cruz has not played in a game since hurting a knee midway through the 2014 season. He missed all of last season with a calf injury.

Coach Ben McAdoo was taking a wait-and-see approach when asked whether the seventh-year receiver would play on Friday night at MetLife Stadium.

Cruz also was uncertain about the game, but he was not frustrated. He said the injury was a typical training camp problem, adding the important thing for him is to listen to his body. He insisted the groin issue was not a major one.
