Some typical freshman foolishness has reared its head once again, this time in Knoxville as freshman defensive lineman Andrew Butcher was arrested over the weekend. Butcher was apparently spotted running down the road and believed to be intoxicated.
Sounds like someone's fired up for some football this weekend.
"The defendant was running around on 40 East near James White Parkway," reads the arrest report, obtained by The Tennessean. "Upon contact with the defendant he had a very strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath, bloodshot watery eyes, slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet."
According to the report, the incident occurred at 1:45 a.m. Sunday morning.
Tennessee officials have not said much regarding the incident except to say the "matter will be handled internally." Sounds like someone will be taking their running skills from the streets to the practice field this week.
