It's well known that Arizona senator John McCain is an ardent supporter of the Diamondbacks, and on Monday night, he displayed that support to the masses with quite a unique celebration.
McCain was a happy fan on Monday, as he was in attendance at Chase Field to witness the D-backs rout the Philadelphia Phillies.
With the Diamondbacks already holding a big cushion against the Phillies, outfielder A.J. Pollock hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh that increased Arizona's lead to 13-3, which would prove to be the game's final score.
McCain was absolutely ecstatic after Pollock's dinger, standing up to celebrate with the rest of the D-backs contingent.
What resulted looked less like a celebration and more like a zombie rising from the dead, as McCain moved his arms as though they were rigor mortis as he reveled in the homer.
McCain and D-backs fans can celebrate however they please, though, as their team is quietly sneaking up on the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants, who have been struggling to win games as of late.
After Monday's win, the Diamondbacks are in third place in the NL West, 6 ½ games behind the Dodgers for first place in the division with a 55-56 record.
