Detroit, MI – The Detroit Tigers placed second baseman Omar Infante on the 15-day disabled list with a left ankle sprain.
Infante is hitting .309 with six homers and 27 RBI in 76 games this season. The move is retroactive to July 4.
To take Infante's spot on the roster, the Tigers recalled infielder Hernan Perez from Double-A Erie. He was batting .300 with four homers and 35 RBI in 86 games with the SeaWolves this year.
