Sunrise, FL – Florida Panthers rookie forward Jonathan Huberdeau underwent successful surgery on his hip Tuesday.
Panthers GM Dale Tallon said he expects the 19-year-old to make a full recovery in time for training camp in September.
The third-overall pick in the 2011 draft, Huberdeau finished his first NHL season with 14 goals and 31 points while participating in all 48 games.
Huberdeau made a splash in his pro debut, racking up a goal and two assists in Florida's season-opening 5-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Jan. 19.
