The result puts Juve within four points of retaining the Scudetto, which can be secured as early as next weekend if Napoli fails to beat Pescara and the Old Lady claims three points against Torino.
Milan, meanwhile, sits just one point above fourth-place Fiorentina for the final Champions League place with five matches to play.
Marco Amelia came on in the first half to replace injured goalkeeper Christian Abbiati, and Amelia had to be sharp to keep out a deflected free kick from Andrea Pirlo shortly before halftime.
But Amelia was at the center of Juve taking the lead in the 57th minute when he brought down Kwadwo Asamoah inside the area.
Vidal stepped to the spot and sent an unstoppable shot into the upper corner of the net, while Milan's best efforts over the final 30 minutes came from Sulley Muntari and Riccardo Montolivo, who were both turned away by goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.
Inter Milan 1, Parma 0

Florence, Italy - Romulo scored with four minutes remaining to help Fiorentina emerge from a seven-goal thriller in victory as it edged Torino 4-3 at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Sunday.
The home side took a three-goal lead thanks to Juan Guillermo Cuadrado, Alberto Aquilani and Adem Ljajic, but the visitors answered through Paulo Vito Barreto, Mario Santana and Alessio Cerci.
Fiorentina managed to retain fourth place in Italy's top flight thanks to Romulo's 86th-minute winner and Matteo Darmian's late red card, which essentially ended the contest.
Napoli 3, Cagliari 2
Naples, Italy - Napoli kept its title hopes alive on Sunday after claiming a dramatic 3-2 victory over Cagliari at the Stadio San Paolo.

Siena, Italy - Chievo put an end to its two-game slide by earning a 1-0 victory over Siena at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Sunday.
The lone goal came from Sergio Pellissier, who struck just before halftime to see Chievo improve to 39 points this term.
Siena remains ensconced in a battle against relegation, sitting just one point above the drop zone with 30 points through 33 matches.
Roma 1, Pescara 1
Rome, Italy - Roma and Pescara exchanged goals on opposite sides of halftime as the two clubs split the points in a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.
Gianluca Caprari helped the visitors start brightly with a goal in the 14th minute, but Mattia Destro struck six minutes after the halftime interval to get the home side on level terms.
The remainder of the match played out without any further scoring, seeing Roma climb to 52 points and Pescara to 22.
Catania 1, Palermo 1
