Tigers' Fister heads back to disabled list

Detroit Tigers pitcher Doug Fister has been placed on the 15-day disabled list for the second time this season.

Fister last pitched on May 28 against Boston and is bothered by a strained left side. He missed most of April with a left rib strain.

The right-hander is 0-3 with a 3.15 earned run average in six starts this season.

Detroit will recall pitcher Casey Crosby from Triple-A Toledo to start Friday's game against the New York Yankees.
