The Baltimore Orioles placed pitcher Matt Lindstrom on the 15-day disabled list and selected the contract of pitcher Dana Eveland from Triple-A Norfolk to make a start on Friday.

The moves came just prior to the beginning of a three-game set against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Lindstrom is sidelined with a right middle finger injury. He did not allow an earned run in his first 12 appearances this season, but was touched for three hits and two earned runs over one inning in Thursday's 7-3 loss to Texas in the back end of a doubleheader.

Eveland went 3-2 with a 2.21 earned run average in six starts for Norfolk this season. The 28-year-old left-hander was 3-2 with a 3.03 ERA in five starts with the Dodgers last season. He was dealt to Baltimore in early December.

To make room for Eveland, the O's designated infielder Zelous Wheeler for assignment.
