The Minnesota Twins placed pitcher Nick day disabled list Sunday with a right lateral forearm strain.

The 29-year-old right-hander has compiled a 7-10 record with a 4.49 ERA in 26 starts for the Twins this season.

To fill the roster spot, Minnesota recalled pitcher Lester Oliveros from Triple-A Rochester.

Oliveros was acquired from Detroit on August 16 to complete the trade for outfielder Delmon Young.

Oliveros pitched in nine games out of the bullpen for the Tigers this season and gave up five earned runs in eight innings pitched. He was 1-3 with a 6.43 earned run average along with five saves in 22 appearances at Detroit's Triple-A affiliate in Toledo before being assigned to Rochester.
