It looks like Justin Bieber fans are not happy that the singer has reunited with on-again-off-again girlfriend Selena Gomez – and they are letting him know by ignoring him on Twitter.

A contingent of his fans started an “#ignorejustinproject” trend on the social media site Sunday night, vowing to boycott him online – at least for a day.

“Like we all tweet each other but not him, and not like any of his photos,” a photo starting the trend read. “No interacting with him. No favoriting, tweets or RTing, dming, instagramming photos that tag him and on shots too. Let’s see if he f***** notices.”

One neglected fan tweeted: “If Justin can ignore us bc of Selena we can ignore him #ignorejustinproject,” while another calling him “rude” for seemingly being less interactive and ignoring his fans.

While the hashtag quickly trended, many more of Bieber’s fans pointed out that the project was ridiculous. Many pointed out that the singer usually goes above and beyond for his fans.

“Who ever made this hashtag #ignorejustinproject it’s really disrespectful and rude I’m really ashamed of who ever made this,” one user tweeted.

Others also pointed out that the trend was “immature,” “ignorant” and “hurtful” to the fan base.

“Leave this fanbase if you actually want to do this. What the hell is this. This is so mean,” someone wrote.

The trend was then countered by #supportjustinproject.

“We are here for a lifetime, it isn’t over yet. we aren’t going anywhere for a long time,” one loyal fan wrote.

Another one wrote: “I've been supporting Justin through the drama, relationships, bad times & good times & there's no way I'm leaving him.”

Beiber, 20, and Gomez, 21, have seemingly been rekindling their relationship for couple of months and were recently spotted together at a friend’s birthday party.
