Sofia Vergara fought back against claims she was objectified by Emmy Award show producers during Monday night’s show.

The Colombian bombshell was asked to introduce the TV Academy’s chairman Bruce Rosenblum during NBC’s telecast of the 66th Annual Primetime Emmy show.

This is usually the time when viewers make a quick dash to the bathroom or kitchen, but this year producers wanted to keep them glued to their screen.

As Rosenblum was touting the organization’s community work and educational efforts, he led the 42-year-old actress to a platform and turned on a switch that had Vergara rotating in place as he spoke.

“Our Academy is more diverse than ever before, both in front of and behind the camera,” he said. “Resulting in a greater diversity of storytelling.”

He concluded: “What truly matters is that we never forget that our success is based on always giving the viewers something compelling to look at.”

The blowback on social media was immediate with several comments suggesting the “Modern Family” star was being objectified and the bit was sexist.

Vergara disagreed and fought back.

“It’s absolutely the opposite,” she said backstage. “It means that somebody can be hot and also be funny and make fun of herself and work and enjoy and make money. I think it’s ridiculous that somebody started this – I know who she was – who has no sense of humor and should lighten up a little bit.”

It was not immediately clear who Vergara was referring to, but that did not stop her from enjoying the rest of the night.

At an Emmys afterparty, she posted a picture to her social media pages that showed her smiling with a drink in hand, looking at the camera as she asked in the caption, “Where r u Big Boy?”

It’s probably safe to assume the sexy pic was directed at boyfriend Joe Manganiello, who did not join Vergara in the festivities.

When asked earlier in the day why she was solo, Vergara told E! News that her boyfriend of nearly three months was just “too hot” for the red carpet.

“He’s really hot, that’s why I didn’t bring him. He’s too hot, he’s too tall, he takes up a lot of space,” Vergara quipped. “He’s too sexy.”
