Turkish TV: Explosion kills 10 people in Suruc near the border with Syria

Turkish state television says an explosion has killed at least 10 people and injured scores in the southeastern Turkish city of Suruc near the Syrian border.

The private Turkish DHA news agency says at least 50 people have been hospitalized.

Suruc is just across the border from the Syrian city of Kobani, the scene of fierce battles between Kurdish groups and the Islamic State group. DHA says the blast occurred at a cultural center while a political group was giving a statement to the press on Kobani's reconstruction.
