A Saudi Civil Defense spokesman says a Saudi woman and a child have been killed in the border region of Najran by a shell fired from Yemen.
Lt. Col. Ali bin Omeir al-Shahrani said in a statement that the shell struck a house on Friday, killing the woman and the three-month-old child.
Dozens have been killed in cross-border fire since late March, when the Saudi-led coalition began bombing the Shiite rebels who seized Yemen's capital Sanaa last year with the help of military units loyal to former president Ali Abdullah Saleh.
