Chinese state media says a bus carrying an opera troupe has fallen off a cliff in central China, killing 20 people.

The official Xinhua News Agency says another 13 people were injured in Tuesday morning's accident in Linzhou city in Henan province.

Linzhou police confirmed the accident in an online statement, but didn't give details on how many people had been hurt or killed. It said there were 33 people onboard and that the vehicle had been hired by the troupe.

The bus was carrying members of a local opera troupe, according to the government of Anyang city, which oversees the smaller city of Linzhou.
