Estonia has appointed a new foreign minister to replace Marina Kaljurand, who resigned to run as a candidate in the Baltic country's presidential election later this month.
Jurgen Ligi, who had held the education and science portfolio in Prime Minister Taavi Roivas' three-party, center-right Cabinet, moved ministries and took office immediately on Monday.
The 57-year-old Ligi, a long-time lawmaker in Roivas' ruling Reform Party, has been defense and finance minister in previous governments.
