Could you imagine how much a cup of joe with Steve Jobs would have cost?
Apple CEO Tim Cook is auctioning himself in the hopes of raising money for the Robert F. Kennedy Center For Justice & Human Rights.
As of Friday afternoon, 75 people had placed bids on the charity website Charitybuzz.com for a chance to meet Cook at Apple headquarters over a cup of coffee.
An opening $5,000 bid jumped to $50,000 in just five hours after the auctioned started on Wednesday. By Thursday morning that cup of coffee had a price tag of $180,000, and by Friday morning "Marky-Mark" had placed the highest bid at $555,000.
The more than half-a-million dollar meet up with Cook is good for two people, and is guaranteed to last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour.
The Kennedy Human Rights Center is also auctioning experiences with some of the world's biggest stars, but the bids are laughable compared to the bidding price Cook is pulling.
Experiences like lunch with Francis Ford Coppola at Napa Valley (highest bid: $4,500), a backstage Broadway meet and greet with Alec Baldwin (highest bid: $2,000), or a meeting with Robert D. Niro at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2014 ($2,250).
