An Egyptian court has postponed its ruling until November in the trial of former President Hosni Mubarak, charged with complicity in the killings of protesters during the 2011 revolt that ousted him.

A helicopter had ferried the 86-year-old Mubarak from a military hospital to the courtroom Saturday for the session. He was sentenced to life imprisonment for the same charges in 2012, though a judge ordered a retrial.

The retrial, presided by Judge Mahmoud Kamel el-Rashid, opened in May 2013 and also included Mubarak's former interior minister and six former security generals.

In the last session, Mubarak spoke out for the first time regarding the case, saying he "would never order the killing of protesters."

Mubarak was the first Arab ruler to be brought to court by his own people.
