China's latest bus fire in eastern port city leaves 1 dead, 19 more injured

China's state media say a public bus in an eastern city has caught fire, killing one person and injuring 19.

State-run Qilu Evening News in the eastern province of Shandong said Wednesday that the incident in Yantai was likely a case of arson.

In recent years, China has seen a spate of public violent incidents, including bus fires and random hackings, which have often been blamed on people who are mentally unstable or who are seeking revenge against society.

In July, a man set ablaze a bus in the eastern city of Hangzhou, injuring dozens. Police said the arsonist was upset with the society.

In February, a man said by police to have believed his wife was unfaithful burned a bus in the southwestern city of Guiyang, killing six passengers.
