What We Can Learn From the Mast Brothers' Chocolate Scandal Recovery

Back in 2007, the Mast Brothers had a very simple value proposition -- that they source beans from South America and make their high-quality chocolates directly from that bean.
But unfortunately, as marketing expert Bolanile Maté of Be Better Paris points out in this video, they ran into a snag after a report from a Dallas-based blogger said that at some point, they used re-melted chocolate instead of going to the bean. But companies evolve, and at some point, yes they might have experimented with melting chocolate before committing to a better process.
So how do you save your company's reputation after something like this? Reinforcing what you're all about, leaning on social media and rebuilding relationships with retailers can help.
