A Houston-area man has been charged in the 2012 shooting death of an Iranian student and women's rights activist whose body was found in her car.
Court documents indicate 56-year-old Ali Irsan of Conroe was arrested Thursday on a murder charge.
Online jail records Friday for Harris and Montgomery counties had no information on Irsan, who's charged in the Houston death of 30-year-old Gelareh Bagherzadeh.

Investigators have not released a possible motive for the January 2012 slaying of the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center graduate student.
Federal prosecutors did not immediately say whether Irsan's arrest is related to a fraud investigation and raids Thursday in Conroe leading to three arrests. Those defendants face court appearances Friday.
No publicly listed phone number could be found for Irsan.
