Bullis School in Maryland is dealing with a controversial video in which a student can be heard making racially charged remarks.

In the video, which was recorded Saturday night and posted on Twitter, a senior Bullis student who is white can be heard saying the N-word and talking about lynching African-Americans.

What happened before or after the video is unclear, but a parent of the student said the student was studying Civil War racism and was quoting the "horrible language" in the movie "Django Unchained."

Bullis School has dismissed the student. Gerald Boarman, the head of the private school, said he was "disgusted" and "disheartened" by the video.

The student said in a statement that he was unaware he was being recorded and that his words were taken out of context. He said he "deeply regrets" his actions.
