More charges added for man accused in Good Samaritan's death

Additional charges have been filed against the man accused in the shooting death of a Good Samaritan who tried to help the suspect after his car spun off a North Carolina road during last week's winter storm.

Online records show 27-year-old Marvin Jacob Lee of Claremont is now facing four counts of attempted first-degree murder and a charge of discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle. Lee was charged with murder in Friday's shooting death of 26-year-old Jefferson Heavner.

Lee is jailed without bond on the murder charge.

Catawba County Sheriff Coy Reid said Lee's car spun out on ice. He became belligerent and began firing after people approached to help. Reid said Heavner was shot by Lee, who then fired several more shots while Heavner was on the ground.
