Authorities say a man suspected of shooting and wounding an Albuquerque officer has been arrested after a massive manhunt.
Albuquerque police said Bernalillo County sheriff's deputies took 36-year-old Christopher Cook into custody without incident early Tuesday on suspicion of shooting Officer Lou Golso during a weekend traffic stop.
Police say Golson was shot twice, at least once in the torso, as he tried to question Cook early Saturday morning during a stop on suspected drunken driving. Authorities say it's unclear what provoked the driver to open fire on the officer, who shot back before the suspect fled.

Golson is listed in stable condition following surgery, but he will need additional surgeries.
Online court records don't list a lawyer for Cook. Police have scheduled a press conference Tuesday to discuss the case.
