A judge is set to resentence the three former Atlanta public school educators who received the harshest prison terms of the 11 convicted in a conspiracy to inflate student scores on standardized tests.
Fulton County Superior Court Judge Jerry Baxter plans to resentence Tamara Cotman, Sharon Davis-Williams and Michael Pitts on Thursday.
The three former district regional directors were the highest-ranking of the 11 former educators convicted of racketeering. Their sentences of seven years in prison followed by 13 years on probation are more than double what prosecutors recommended.

Earlier this month, Baxter delayed sentencing a day to give the convicted former educators time to negotiate deals with prosecutors. But only two took them; the others received between one and seven years in prison.
