A Florida man and his mother are facing child neglect charges after authorities say they left a 3-year-old girl alone in a sports utility vehicle while they shopped at a Wal-Mart store.
Lake Wales police Lt. David Black said in a news release that a customer saw the child Wednesday afternoon and notified store employees.
The Ledger (http://bit.ly/2bnduUA ) reports officers broke the front window and pulled her out. The child was crying, but otherwise fine.

Black says the temperature at the time was 86 degrees.
Police arrested 28-year-old Timothy Adams and 57-year-old Anna Adams. They told investigators they each thought the other had taken the child from the vehicle.
Jail records didn't list attorneys for the two.
