Falling tree crashes into car, killing woman in her 60s; police say driver was only occupant

Authorities say a tree has crashed into a car driven by a woman in her 60s, killing her.

The Cincinnati Enquirer (http://cin.ci/1D39Lyy ) reports that the tree fell onto the car around 4 p.m. Sunday. Photos show a large tree resting across the crushed vehicle.

Cincinnati Police Officer Douglas Swingley tells the newspaper the woman was the only occupant. He says she was headed north on Reading Road in Cincinnati at the time.

Police did not immediately release the woman's name.

Leonard Washington of Price Hill tells the newspaper he saw the woman driving moments before the tree fell. He says he rushed to the car.

There was little he could do to help.
