Detroit Mayor Dave Bing has suspended Police Chief Ralph Godbee following allegations Godbee was in a relationship with a subordinate.
An attorney for a female internal affairs officer tells the Detroit Free Press that the married police chief and the woman had been in a relationship that she eventually tried to end.
David Robinson says the officer "was trying to cut it off" and Godbee "didn't like that."

Robinson says the officer became "very depressed" and is "going to be evaluated by a doctor."
Bing said in a statement Tuesday that he suspended Godbee "after hearing of the allegations." He says Godbee has been placed on a 30-day suspension pending an investigation.
Assistant Chief Chester Logan will assume Godbee's responsibilities during the suspension.
