Authorities: Miss. woman offered to sell infant son to La. woman she met through Craigslist
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}A Mississippi woman has been arrested on a charge that she offered to sell her infant son to a Louisiana woman she met through an online classified ad.
Authorities say 23-year-old Bobbie Jo Stojic of Bay St. Louis was freed on $5,000 bond after her Oct. 29 arrest on a felony charge of offering to sell a child.
Stojic is accused of offering to sell her 4-month-old son for $5,000 in a text message sent last month to a woman in Kenner, La., who answered her Craigslist ad for baby clothes.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Hancock County Sheriff's Office detective Brandon Normand says Stojic denied the allegations after the other woman notified the Mississippi Department of Human Services.
A phone number for Stojic wasn't in service Tuesday. It wasn't immediately clear whether she has an attorney.
